ATCwill broadcast on the appropriate frequency before thedrop as an alert
to pilots of IFR flights operating in the airspace. Pilots of PJE aircraftmust
broadcast in accordancewith the aboveparagraphs to alert pilots of VFR

MILITARYAERODROMES
Aircraft supporting parachute descentswithin the vicinity of an airport
designatedCTAFmust be equippedwith twoVHF radio transceivers in order
tomonitor traffic in the vicinity of the aerodrome, and in the surrounding area
(AIPENR5.5). Further, in addition to the two (2)minutes prior broadcast on
theCTAF frequency, the pilotmust advise the intention to drop parachutists,
onboth theCTAF frequency and all surrounding frequencies, not less than
four (4)minutes prior to the planned exit.
Parachutistsmust not be droppedwithin 15minutes prior to theestimated
time of arrival of anRPT aircraft, unless the two aircraft are indirect
communication and the exit can be completed such that all parachutists have
landed prior to the arrival of theRPT aircraft in the circling area. Once theRPT
aircraft has landed and taxied clear of the runway, the exit of parachutistsmay
proceed provided there is noother conflicting traffic.
When a departingRPT aircraft has broadcast taxiing for departure,
parachutistsmust not be permitted to commence a descent until theRPT
aircraft is clear of the circling area of the aerodrome.
Parachutistsmust not be dropped onto a licenced/registered/certified
aerodrome unless:
• the aerodromeoperator has approved parachute descents onto the
aerodrome;
• regular or locally-based users of the aerodrome airspacehavebeen
advised of the intended descents; and
• the target for parachutists is separated clear ofmovement areas by the
distanceequal to theminimum drop zone radius for the parachutists
using it.
