LANDINGCLEARANCES

Pilot in commandmust not landunless the specific clearance ‘CLEAREDTO

LAND’ has been received.

SEPARATIONMINIMA FOR LANDING

The appropriatewake turbulence separation standardwill always be applied

by theATC between landing aircraft. A landing aircraftwill not be permitted to

cross the threshold of the runway on its final approachuntil;

• a preceding departing aircraft using the same runway

– is airborne, and

- has commenced a turn; or

- is beyond the point on the runway atwhich the landing aircraft

could be expected to complete its landing roll and there is sufficient

distance tomanoeuvre safely in theevent ofmissed approach; or

– is at least 1000m from the runway threshold, and

- has commenced the take-off run; and

- in the opinion of the controller, no collision risk exists, and

- the aircraft taking off has anMTOW of 7000 kg or less; and

- the landing aircraft is performanceCategoryA and has anMTOW

below 3000 kg.

• a preceding landing aircraft using the same runway:

- has vacated it and is taxiing away from the runway; or

- has landed andhas passed a point at least 1000m from the

threshold of the runway andwill vacate the runwaywithout

backtracking, and

- in the opinion of the tower controller, no collision risk exists; and

- the preceding aircraft has anMTOW of 7000 kgor less; and

- the following landing aircraft is performanceCategoryA and has

anMTOW below 3000 kg; or

- has landed and has passed a point 600m from the threshold of the

runway, is inmotion andwill vacate the runwaywithout backtracking;

and

- the preceding landing aircraft has anMTOW of less than 7000 kg,

and

- the following landing aircraft has anMTOWof 2000 kgor less, or
