RadioRequirements. Pilotsmustmaintain two-way communicationswith the

relevant ATC control towerwhenever operating inClassD airspace.

Control AreaProtection. Apilot, desiring to retain a vertical bufferwith aircraft

inClassG airspace (control areaprotection) during climbor descent inClassC

or ClassD airspace, shouldmaintain at least 500 ft above the lower limit of the

CTA steps.

Traffic Information inControlledAirspace.

In controlled airspace,when

a separation standarddoesnot exist, ATCwill provide traffic information to

the aircraft concernedwhen, in theopinionof theAir TrafficController, the

information iswarrantedby theproximityof the aircraft.
