GOAROUNDPROCEDURES - VISUALAPPROACH INVMC

In the event that an aircraft is required to go around from a visual approach in

VMC, the aircraftmust initially climb on the runway track, remain visual and

await instructions fromATC. If the aircraft can not clear obstacles on runway

track, the aircraftmay turn.

TAXIINGAFTER LANDING

A pilot in commandmust not holdon the runway in use unlessATC has so

authorised.

After landing, unless specified otherwise byATC, an aircraftmust comply

with the following:

• Promptly vacate the runwaywithout backtracking;

• Change from the aerodrome frequency to theSMC frequency (where

established) when vacating the runway strip and obtain anATC taxi

instruction;

• Not cross any runway that intersects the taxi routeunless in receipt of a

taxi instruction and a ‘CROSSRUNWAY (number)’ instruction fromATC;

• Taxi to the destination via themost direct taxiway(s) available; and

• Where an apron service is provided on a discrete frequency (seeERSA),

change to that frequency on entering the apron.

A taxi instructionwhich contains a taxi limit beyond a runwaymust include

a ‘CROSSRUNWAY (number)’ instruction to cross that runway.When an

aircraft is required tohold short of a runway intersecting the taxi route, ATC

will issue a taxi instruction limit of the holdingpoint associatedwith the

intersecting runway.

An aircraftwhich has been issuedwith a taxi instruction limit of the holding

point of a runway intersecting the taxi route, orwhichhas been issuedwith

an instruction to ‘HOLDSHORT’ of that runway,must subsequently be issued

with an instruction to ‘CROSSRUNWAY (number)’.

Aircraft required to hold short of a runwaymust hold at the appropriate

holdingpoint for that runway, or the runway strip edge at the intersectionof a

crossing runway.
