TRAFFIC INFORMATION INCONTROLLEDAIRSPACE
In controlled airspacewhen a separation standarddoes not exist, ATCwill
provide traffic information to the aircraft concernedwhen, in theopinion of
the air traffic controller, the information iswarrantedby theproximity of the
aircraft.
The traffic information providedwill contain asmuch information as is known
and is necessary to assist the pilot in identifying theother aircraft, eg:
• type;
• altitude;
• position, either by clock reference, bearing anddistance, relation to a
geographical point or reported position and estimate; and
• intentions or direction of flight.
ATCwill provide relevant traffic information to aerodrome traffic toenable
pilots, while complyingwithATC instructions, tomaintain separation from
other aircraft.
