RescueCoordinationCentre (RCC):

Aunit established for

promoting efficient organisationof searchand rescue serviceand for

coordinating the conduct of search and rescueoperationswithin a

search and rescue region.

RestrictedArea:

An airspaceof defineddimensions above the land

areas or territorial waters of aState, withinwhich theflight of aircraft

is restricted in accordancewith certain specified conditions.

Note: This designation is normallyusedwhenever the activities

of theAdministeringAuthorityof theairspaceare ahazard to

other users; or other users constitute ahazard to theactivities

of theAdministeringAuthority.

Route:

Away tobe taken inflying fromadeparture toadestination

aerodrome, specified in terms of track anddistance for each route

segment.

Runway (RWY):

Adefined rectangular areaona landaerodrome

prepared for the landingand take-off of aircraft.

Runway-HoldingPosition:

Adesignatedposition intended toprotect

a runway, anobstacle limitation surface, or an ILS critical/sensitive

areaatwhich taxiing aircraft and vehiclesmust stopandhold, unless

otherwise authorisedby the aerodrome control tower.

Note: In radiotelephonyphraseologies, theexpression ‘holding

point’ is used todesignate the runway-holdingposition.

RunwayNumber:

The runway identification associatedwith the

runwaydirection end.
