• all locker and compartment doors of the aircraft are fastened;

• the safety harness or seat belt of any vacant seat ismade secure so as to

avoid the foulingof the controls of the aircraft;

• the dual controls (if any) of the aircraft are removed from the aircraft or

rendered inoperative, unless the control seats are occupied in accordance

withCAR226 (page23) or the dual control seat is vacant; and

• every person in the aircraft is securedwith correctly adjusted safety

harness or seat belt.

FLYINGOVERPUBLICGATHERINGS (CAR 156)

Exceptwith the permission, inwriting, of CASA and in accordancewith the

conditions specified in the permit, an aircraft shall not beflown over any

regatta, racemeetingor public gathering.

Nothing in the above shall apply to an aircraft passing over a regatta, race

meeting or public gathering in theprocess of:

• arriving at or departing from an aerodrome in the courseof its normal

navigation for so doing; or

• passing from place toplace in the ordinary course of navigation.

LOW FLYING (CAR 157)

An aircraftmust not fly over:

• any city, town or populous area, at a height lower than 1000 ft; or

• any other area at a height lower than 500 ft.

A height specified in the above is the height above thehighest point of the

terrain, and any object on it, within a radius of:

• in the case of an aircraft other than a helicopter 600m; or

• in the case of a helicopter 300m; from a point on the terrain vertically

below the aircraft.

Paragraphone does not apply in respect of a helicopter flying at a designated

altitudewithin an access lane details ofwhichhave been published in theAIP

or NOTAMS for useby helicopters arriving at or departing from a specified

place.
