At an aerodrome usedor available for use innight flying operations, an aircraft

parkedon or adjacent to themovement area shall be clearly illuminatedor

lighted, unless the area that it occupies ismarkedby obstruction lights.

EXEMPTIONS

Where an aircraft is not equipped in accordancewith the above, CASAmay

give permission, subject to such conditions (if any), for the aircraft tobe flown

under VFR.

INSTRUMENTS

Theflight andnavigational instruments required for night VFR operations are

(CAO20.18Appendix IV):

• an airspeed indicating system;

• a sensitive altimeter;

• a direct readingmagnetic compass, or a remote indicating compass and a

standby direct readingmagnetic compass;

• an accurate timepiece indicating the time in hours,minutes and seconds,

except that thismay be omitted if it is carriedon theperson of thepilot or

navigator;
