SARTIME FORDEPARTURE

When submitting flight notification, a pilotmay nominate a SARTIME for

departure for the initial departure aerodrome. For intermediate departure, it

may be nominated by telphone after landing, or as part of the arrival report

associatedwith that arodrome. Only oneSARTIMEmay be current at any

time.

Teh nimination of a SARTIME for departuredoes not absolve thepilot

from complyingwith the requirements for the carriageof servicable radio

equiptment, nor frommaking the prescribed reports.

Pilots of other than IFRRPT flights, wishing toextend theSARWATCH for

the period of landing and subsequent take-off,may nominate a SARTIME

for departurewhen arriving at an aerodromewhere radio or ground

communication cannot reasonably be assured. SAR alerting actionwill be

initiated if a taxiing or departure report is not received by thenominated

SARTIME.

An IFR departure report is not sufficient to cancel a SARTIME for Departure.

Pilotswhohave nominated a SARTIME for Departuremust use the phrase

‘CANCELSARTIME’ with thedeparture report.
