For lowperformanceultralight aircraft and rotorcraftwith amaximum speed

of approximately 55 kt it is recommended that the aircraft overflymidfield at

500 ft above aerodrome elevation. Thiswill minimise the risk of conflictwith

higher or faster traffic.

When arriving and intending to join the circuit fromoverhead, the aircraft

should descend on the non-active sideof the circuit and beestablished at its

circuit altitude as it crosses the runway centreline on crosswind, between

midfield and the departure end of the runway.

When arriving on the live side, the recommendedmethod is to arrive at

the circuit altitudeenteringmidfield at approximately 45 degrees to the

downwind legwhile givingway to the aircraft already established in the

circuit.

On downwind, the applicable circuit altitude should bemaintained until

commencement of the base leg turn. The base legposition is normally

when the aircraft is approximately 45 degrees from the reciprocal of the final

approach path, measured from the runway threshold. Along the base leg,

continue to lookout andmaintain traffic separation.

When on the final leg, confirm that the runway is clear for the landing.
