ACCESSVIATHE INTERNET

Internet access toNAIPS does not require theNAIPS software tobe installed

on your PC so it can be accessed from internet cafes etc.

The address iswww.airservicesaustralia.com. You still require the username

andpassword as described above.

TheNAIPS forWindows software also allows for internet access.

The internet version allows you to copy andpaste sections of thebriefing into

a compact document for in-flight use.

NAIPSPRE-FLIGHT INFORMATION

Pre-flight briefing and briefing update includedby:

• use of stored personal flight files—Airservices’ stored routes for tailored

standardbriefings;

• briefingby location—weather andNOTAMbasedon locationsnominatedby

thepilot

• briefingby area—basedon the forecast areas;

• briefingby route (SPFIB)—weather andNOTAMbasedondeparture,

destination anden-route locations. Briefingmaterial isfilteredby:

- time (basedonETD and timeperiod)

- height (“low” isbelow10000 ft) and

- wake turbulence category (‘low’ applies to aircraft of

7000 kgMTOWor less).

• updatesof pre-flight briefings (AVFAX andSPFIBbriefingsonly);

• displayof original briefings;

• area forecasts, AreaQNH,METAR/SPECI, TAF, SIGMET, AIRMET, CHARTS

andATIS;

• first and last light calculations;

• location-specificNOTAMS;

• FIRNOTAMS;

• HeadOfficeNOTAMS; and

• UTC time check;
