Thepilotmay use the abbreviated call–sign in subsequent contactwithATS.

When aware of similar/identical call–signs, ATSwill take action tominimise

errors by:

• emphasising certain numbers/letters;

• repeating the entire call–sign;

• repeating the prefix; or

• asking pilots to use a different call–sign temporarily.

Pilots should use the phrase ‘VERIFYCLEARANCEFOR (complete call–sign)’

if doubt exists concerning proper identity.

Civil aircraft pilotsmay state the aircraft type,model ormanufacturer’s name,

followedby the digits/letters of the registrationnumber, whenusingCTAF

procedures.

Theprefix ‘HELICOPTER’ before the callsignmust be usedby rotarywing

aircraftwhen first establishing contact on any frequency, eg:

Ground vehicles shall be identifiedby the typeof vehiclee.g. car, truck,

tractor, tugetc or anATS approved format, followedby the assigned vehicle

number spoken in group form, eg:

TRUCK12 ‘TRUCK TWELVE’

CAR 23 ‘CAR TWENTY THREE’
