Route detailsmust startwithDCT (direct) to indicate theflight
is planned to track from the departure aerodrome (YSCB for
Canberra), to the first en routepoint, then from the last en
route point to the destination (YSSY for Sydney); e.g. DCTCB
SYDCT.
When planning to track direct from the departure aerodrome
to the destination aerodrome, iewithout the useof
navigational aids, enter DCTonly.
When operating outside a designatedATS route, enter DCT
followed by a significant point; e.g. DCTPHCKLBIUPHDCT
or DCT 1239S14325E 1300S14335EDCT
When operating in a designatedATS route, enter the nameof
the locationwhere the route is joined followed by the route
designator; e.g. on a flight departingCeduna for Griffith via
the route designators J149 andB469 enter DCTCD J149

On surveywork in a block or airspace, enter DCT followed
by significant points to the survey area, included thepoint
of commencement of survey, then thepoint of exit from the
survey area and the significant points to thedestination;

When planning to conduct surveywork, amapof the survey
areamust be provided toATSwith the flight notification.
When planning surveywork, write in Item18(b) the expected
delay (DLA) at the commencement of survey; e.g. DLA/GAY
0130 indicates a delay at Gayndah for 90minutes.
Note1: Adesignated route begins andends at the navaid
exceptwhere the departure or destination is not
serviced by a navaid.
