 The workbook is only for use in training for the associated CASA RPL, PPL and CPL examinations, and is not to be used for any other purpose. 

After use in a CASA examination, the workbook must not be removed from the examination room, but must be left with the PEXO examination Invigilator for destruction. Failure to comply with these instructions may give CASA grounds for taking action against the candidate under CAR 298A, which action could lead to the outcome indicated in CAR 298A (5).

The following workbook is a copy of CASA’s exam booklet plus additional extracts which are required when completing the Bob Tait Exam Preps.

Extracts

 

The use of the ‘selected extract’ in CASA PEXO exams is subject to the following conditions:
  1. The ‘selected extract’ must be as provided without any additional pages, training notes, cross references or indexes added to them.
  1. Candidates may choose to take into their exams either:
    • These ‘selected extract’ of CASRs and CARs  documents; or
    • The normal set of CASRs, CARs  documents, but NOT both.
  1. Should a candidate, as a result of using ‘selected extract’, find that they cannot answer a question(s) or choose an incorrect answer(s), are not permitted to use this to request a re-marking of their exam.
  1. Candidates may only take ‘selected extract’ into those exams where each of those documents ( CARs and CASR ) are part of the ‘permitted materials’ for that subject.
  1. A divider page, used to separate the different sections, i.e. separating  CARs and CASRs portions of ‘selected extracts’, is approved.
  1. As per the normal CASA requirements stated on page https://www.casa.gov.au/licences-and-certificates/pilots/pilot-and-flight-crew-exams/prepare-your-exam/materials-allowed-exams of the CASA web site, no tagging of these pages is permitted, however candidates may choose to underline or highlight sections of the text if they wish (also as stated on that same page of the CASA web site).

Advisory Circulars

Advisory circulars are intended to provide advice and guidance to illustrate a means, but not necessarily the only means, of complying with the Regulations, or to explain certain regulatory requirements by providing informative, interpretative and explanatory material.  

Advisory circulars should always be read in conjunction with the relevant regulations.

This Advisory Circular (AC 91.02 v1.1) provides guidance for pilots of:
•  aeroplanes with maximum take-off weight (MTOW) not exceeding 5 700 kg that are operated under Part 91 of CASR, including experimental aircraft, and
•  light sport aircraft (LSA) under Part 103 of CASR.
