Hello All,

I am new to Australia Loading system. Currently I am converting my Canada PPL to Australia PPL. Back in Canada we only have one loading system which is baggage only.

I want to know what is the different between Nose Baggage and Rear Baggage. Shall I put 85kg to Nose or Rear. and how to identify which go to which.

ie. Cyber Exam 1: 39

Refer VFR (Day) Booklet loading system Alpha page 10/11.

Given:
Basic index units = -300
Basic empty weight = 998 kg
Row 1 - pilot and passenger = 135 kg
Row 2 - forward facing passengers = 142 kg
Row 3 = 120 kg
Baggage (total weight) = 85 kg

Hi RCKB,
Normally the CASA exam question will tell you where the baggage is to go (nose or rear) but in this question, it doesn't matter. You can fit 45 in each so there will only be a maximum of 5 kg of difference between the two stations (one with 40kg and on with 45kg). If you took a look at 45 in the nose and 40 in the tail versus 40 in the nose and 45 in the tail, you would see the question comes out with the same answer.
Cheers,
Rich
