Here's the last (for now!) of my "Where have I gone wrong" questions.

Question refers to the diagram on p4 of Bob Tait's PPL supplement, and reads:

"Given the following details:
Runway = 08/26
Take-off distance available = 1200m
Surface = short wet grass
Slope = level
Pressure height = 4000ft
Wind = 080/05
Temperature = +28 Deg C

The heaviest take-off weight permitted under the conditions is closest to:
(a) 800kg
(b) 900kg
(c) 1000kg
(d) 1050kg

Here's my working, which comes out around 980kg - closest to 1000kg. But the answer given as correct is (d) 1050kg. Where did I go wrong?

My thanks to anyone taking the time out to steer this newbie straight!

I can't find anything wrong with your working in this one. I expect it's the chart you used. We have noticed that some of the charts on the CASA exam booklet give a different answer to the chart in our supplement. We have recently updated the supplement to the same charts as are in the current CASA exam booklet. The same charts have been changed with various CASA reprintings. Not much we can do about that I'm afraid. Thanks for the feedback.
