Hi there,

I'm having difficulty working through the flow of these questions, and I hope you can point me in the right direction. When a question asks to work out the weight to remove or add, what arm I should use (no diff between arms, therefore I use the compartment arm)? Let's take question #3, page 168:
after going through all the calculations, I used the following final calc: (2555 x 32)/5000 = 16kg to remove, but the answer is 36.

The point I'm missing is how I will calculate the final weight when there is no diff between arms, i.e. subtract or add?

Thanks
HY.

Do keep in mind that not all readers will have the exact same document you are using. It becomes a little difficult, say, if the question order has been changed and it now is a different reference to locate it.

If you refer to a specific question, best to post the question so that we are all singing from the same hymnal. If you can be so kind as to do so, I'm sure you will have an answer to your question in short order.

@john

Sorry page 186, (table):
#3. Weight: 2555, moment: 693, assuming all compartments are full, fined the minimum charge that must be offloaded?

Question 4, same page: an Echo is loaded at take off with a gross weight of 2595kg and a total moment index of 687. What is the greatest weight that may now be added to the rear compartment?

So any question without arm diff, I struggle to get to the same answer number :(

It really does help to see the original data. Any chance you can include a scan of the page ? Also the suggested answers.
