Samsemail72@gmail.com created the topic: Fuel conversion factor

The fuel conversion factor from litres to kilograms for avgas is 0.72 in ERSA

The fuel conversion factor in the PPL and CPL workbook version 1 September 2014 for loading system charlie is 0.708.

So for the performance exam which one do you use?

You can't go wrong if you use the conversion factor in CASA's ERSA CON. That's .72.

It can only be an approximation anyway, because fuel is a blend of hydrocarbons. Also, warm fuel expands and so occupies a larger volume for the same mass. That means the specific gravity varies by a small amount with temperature.
