Woot! On ya Ellzy. By the way you are officially excused from beta-test activities until you've got that performance exam out of the way

If anything it's going to help my preparations! I'm as confident as ever about it now ('tis a strange feeling), I should do ok. I am a bit worried about the 1 fuel as ballast question I got wrong though... That has got me thinking, I thought I was a gun at them.

Righto everyone, you heard it from me first! Finally, I am good at performance. Good enough anyway, just sat the exam this morning and scored a very happy 88%. Thanks everyone for helping me out and those wishing me luck.
That was the last of my exams too which makes it feel extra good

Hi again guys n gals,
I didn't want to mention this before I passed this exam at risk of being labelled a 'sore loser coz I can't pass the exam' sort of person, but why aren't PNR and ETP calculations part of the Navigation side of study? I understand PNRs, because of finding the safe endurance and all but even then Navigation also deals with fuel, albeit a little simpler..
Oh and my CPL flight test is booked for the 29th this month

The subject that is simply called 'Performance' by us pilots is actually referred to in the CASA Day VFR Syllabus as 'Operation, Performance & Flight Planning (FPP)'. So CASA consider that ETP and PNR calculations are actually flight planning considerations.
Have fun with your flight training. Maybe one day we may see you up here for a visit!!
