Hi everyone,

Are we expected to know how to solve problems with the performance tables and graphs in the exam? Specfically, the ones to do with maximum climb, cruise-climb, cruise-descent, cruise, and engine performance?

Cheers.

CASA do not give you any of the climb or cruise tables nor the fuel flow tables. Any exam question relating to climb cruise or fuel consumption will give you the details for rate of climb, TAS or fuel flow in the question data. The reason I have included the climb, TAS and fuel flow tables for the Echo is because the syllabus says you should be able to extract information from the aircraft performance data and use that information to solve performance problems. After all, that's what you would have to do in the real world.

In that regard, the exam questions will be easier than the exercises in the book because all relevant information will be included in the question text.
