Jase88 created the topic: Wind Strength and Cloud thickness

Hi Bob,

I've had a couple of questions in your online practice exams where it has referred to cloud thickness and wind strength.

In one question it stated that a 2500ft cloud wasn't considered thick enough to contain clear ice. Is there any references for cloud thicknesses to help answer these types of questions? Eg, is a thick cloud 3000ft or more, a thin cloud up to 2500ft etc.

Also when amswering a GPWT question it stated that a 12kt wind was considered light, i would have called it moderate myself but once again i don't have anything to really go from.

Thanks
