If you are using a VPN set to countries outside of Australia you may have problems accessing the Forums Due to a spam attack from TEMU.
We have locked down the IP addresses from offending countries.

In practice exam two question.14 the answer suggests that if no approach available we must refer to the GAF and apply the LSALT + 500 rule, 8 km to determine if we require an alternate. However the question also presents us with a TAF. I am unable to find a reference in the AIP which instructs us to ignore a TAF which the question appears to suggest

The exam questions are randomly numbered and generated, please include a more detailed copy of the question wording so we can find it in the data base.
I think the idea is that if an aerodrome has no published instrument approach, you will not have an approach plate to refer to so you won't know what alternate minima apply. AIP ENR 1.1 para 10.7.2.10 (b).
It would be unlikely that an aerodrome with no instrument approach would have a TAF service, but not impossible.
