Hi,

Airmanship principles/common sense and real world conditions put to one side - is it accepted (and expected in the IREX) that you must amend the heights published in the alternate minima section of an approach plate if expecting accurate QNH (with shading) or using area QNH for a plate designed for TAF QNH? As an example, YSCB ILS-Z RWY 35 dated 17 JUN 2021, cat B performance. If accurate QNH is reasonably expected, you may reduce the alternate minima height pre flight from 1964ft to 1864ft. If your arrival was OCTA and a TAF service was not available, your alternate minima must change pre flight from 1964ft to 2014ft?

Thanks,

James

You add 50FT only if TAF/ATIS not available, i.e. you have available Forecast Area QNH only. Arrival from OCTA is irrelevant.
