RNAV Approach recency: manufactured type question

Many years ago (pre Part 61) I did the Bob Tait IREX course and noted that for an RNAV approach, you must have flown an approach in the same manufactured type (ie Garmin, Bendix) in the past 6 months.

I looked through part 61 and can't find anything about this - so has this constraint now been repealed?

No. That is no longer a requirement.
