Jump-Pahlut created the topic: FAF
I was asked this question, If an approach plate has no FAF cross, where does the final approach segment begin? I can't find a reference for it any where.
Approaches such as DME or GPS arrivals, DME Arcs and LOC need a symbol to indicate where the Initial and Final approach segment commences. However in reversal procedures there is no need for a final approach fix since it is obvious where the final approach begins. In these approaches, the final approach commences when the aircraft is established on the final approach track. + or - 5°.
