I’m really struggling knowing when to add or subtract when finding the magnetic bearing of the aeroplane To/From the station on using a VOR? Eg question 33 exercise 14 page 63
I found the circle for the NDB really useful and tried applying to the vor but it wasn’t working for me. Can some on help?

Most students find it easier to forget about 'radials'. Just look at the TO/FROM flag.
1.If the flag shows 'FROM', and the CDI is centred, the OBS indicates the bearing FROM the VOR.
In this case, the bearing TO the VOR will be the reciprocal the OBS setting.
2.If the flag shows 'TO', and the CDI is centred, the OBS indicates the bearing 'TO' the VOR.
In this case, the bearing FROM the VOR will be the reciprocal of the OBS setting.
