Exercise 11 Q4

rssluca created the topic: Exercise 11 Q4

Hi all,

Had a tough day at work and probably not really sharp right now... Can anyone help me out understanding why, since TMG has deviated from FTP to the right, do we need to add the TE to the HDG rather than subtract it? By altering the heading to 155 my impression is that the aircraft would only move further right than it has done before.

Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi rssluca,
If you have been heading 150o with a constant ADF reading of 350oR, you have been tracking 140o towards the beacon. This is to the right of the FPT of 145o. Therefore you need to turn left to intercept the 145o FPT. The 60o HDG intercept for 145o from the right of track is 085o.
See if the picture below makes it any clearer.
Cheers,
Rich
