Hey Guys just wondering i received my flight crew license in the mail and it has arrived on a piece of paper stating that i had to sign it, Now is that actually my license or will i receive another one like a drivers license..

No problems. You won't get a different licence mate, that IS your licence and you can put it in a licence wallet to protect it. Available from pilot shops.
When you get a new licence (PPL, CPL) you will be sent a new one to reflect your new privileges (GFPT is a sticky label so you don't need the paper licence to use it).
Sorry to disappoint, it's not very glamorous but it is what it is!

Thanks mate, yeah not very glamorous at all but like you said it is what it is!!! I brought that licence wallet today from the essendon pilot shop, bloody cost me $40.00 bucks, rip off well thanks for the reply mate, btw I see your up to ATPL, that's awesome, how many hours you to mate..

Ahh the ATPL thingo is just a measure of how many posts I've made. It's not far from the truth.. except I don't have 100 night hours (close though!) and I don't hold or ever held a MECIR along with a lot of the other requirements!

Actually I'm not really looking for a jet job, I instruct at a flying school in Perth and really enjoy it and want to keep enjoying it as long as they'll let me do it!

Hi Folks,
Just wondering when does a license actually becomes effective e.g. PPL? Is it when CASA processes it and sends you the license? Or when you have completed all the license requirements and send the forms off?
