Hello,

Can i please get some help with the following question in the E-law book -

Q24, page 142

What is the coverage of NORFOLK ISLAND NDB at A050 over SEA during the DAY?

A. 260NM
B. 300NM
C. 120NM
D. 60NM

I chose 'B', however the answer in the book comes back as 'A'... Im not sure how answer A is correct, please see the ERSA entry page attached.

OK. I see it's 260nm over land and 300nm over water. Obviously the over water figure is the one to use, it would be a bit difficult to arrive at Norfolk Island over land! I'll amend the answer. (I wonder why they would publish an over land rated coverage for an island? Interesting.

Isn't 260 the frequency (260kHz)?
I read OW300 (Over Water 300NM), OW HN120 (Over Water Night Hours 120NM)

Opps! You are correct. The rated coverage over water should be 300nm.

Opps! You are correct. The rated coverage over water should be 300nm. I note it has been amended in the current print of the book. The answer is (b).
