Laurie Dean created the topic: Separation Minima from CB cloud?

Hi,
I'm trying to find whether there is a law regarding minimum separation from Cb during flight? I can't find any reference in the PPL or CPL Met or Law course books, but I'm pretty sure such a law exists. Can't find anything in AIP, ERSA OR CAO. Am I wrong to think there is a separation minima from sig wx cloud?

VFR separation from cloud is specified in AIP ENR 1.2 para 2. Cumulonimbus is cloud so those separation requirements apply. There is no special requirement for separation from cumulonimbus cloud. Since a VFR pilot will be able to actually see the cloud, common sense might dictate that he/she keep well away.
