Juat working my way through these questions and your answer for the above Q is (C) 50nm. (Distance from land for an VFR passenger carrying charter flight. I think it should be (b)25nm...ref AIP 1.1-100 62.1.

Am I missing somthing? FYI my book is Issue 11.

You must not be more than 25nm from a landmass suitable for a forced landing. Therefore if two such landmasses were separated by 50nm of open water, you could fly between them because when you were 25nm from the departure landmass, you would also be 25nm from the destination landmass.

Just goes to show you have to read the question properly not just concentrate on the documents.
