Hi all, I came across a couple of questions in a revision test on ADF Orintation and am unsure on how to work them out, the questions are as follow-
Aircraft heading is 215 degrees magnetic, the current magnetic track from the station is 160 degrees magnetic, what is the ADF relative bearing?
And the second question is-
Heading is 127 degrees magnetic, track from the station is 224 degrees magnetic, what is the ADF relative bearing?
Any assistance on these problems would be much appreciated

Orientation is done by drawing a picture in your mind .. after a bit, one just does the sums but the picture always will get you out of trouble.
Try pencil and paper and draw the picture as a rough sketch ..
(a) start with a north orientation line
(b) put in the station somewhere convenient
(c) draw a line from the station approximately 160M .. ie a bit right of straight down from the station as you look at it
(d) somewhere on that line put the aircraft ADF rose with the 000 index (ie the aircraft direction) facing roughly 215M ... ie a reasonable bit left of straight down
(e) the relative bearing is where the line from the station overlays the ADF rose
(f) should be simple now to figure out how the arithmetic sum works.
