What is the heaviest take off weight permitted under these conditions closest to?

One wonders why the question didn't give you the option of the MTOW ? A little pointless to offer less when the chart is conservative with respect to the entry arguments. For the answers offered yours is fine.

In general, it helps us know your thinking and approach if you post your completed chart.

said his answer was 1030 Kg

I think it would be a good idea for us to see your friend's solution so we might discuss wherever it may have been that he went a little off the rails in its working ?

Where do we start! I see two huge errors in the working that you have provided.

Error 1
The question says that PH = 500' and Temp = 25C
You entered the charts at PH=5000' and T=15 C

Error Two
You have not considered the TO climb weight limit in any way, shape or form - read the notes at the bottom of the chart. They are there for a reason!

If the aerodrome is high and hot your TOW will be climb limited.

.. methinks the markings on the scanned chart relate to a previous, unrelated question - one mistake, perhaps, but two ? ... hence my earlier comment. Once he confirms one way or the other, we can proceed to a conclusion.

Then you are climb-weight limited.
See notes at bottom of chart.

Perhaps you might post your reworked sheet so we can make sure you are completing it correctly.

I get around 980 Kg - climb weight limited.
Closest answer is "A" at 970 kg

How embarrassing .... My comment was directed to Jukzizy.

However, in your example, it appears you have, quite inadvertently no doubt, run the Hp line across to the climb limit scale rather than from the climb limit weight against Hd line.

Once again your chart does not consider the TO climb limit - see notes at bottom of chart.
The TO weight shall "not exceed the lessor of A and B"

Your working shows weight "A", you have not shown weight "B".
