Question 38 states:

The actual obstacle free gradient available from the end of TODA on runway 12 at Deniliquin is:
a) 2.53%
b) 2.95%
c) 1.2%
d) 1.9%

The answer given is 1.2%

I was just wondering if you could elaborate the way in which you came to that answer? because nowhere in my RDS can i make heads and tails to how that figure was found? Perhaps its because was different in an old ERSA compared to the current issue. Im not entirely sure which way to turn to find that answer 🙂

Thankyou again guys 🙂

Yes, the ERSA has been amended since the question was written. The obstacle-free gradient for RWY 12 is now given as 3.25%. Something must have been constructed within the climb-out area. Thanks for you feed-back, That answer has already been changed in the current version of the book.

Per this grab from ERSA RDS ... has it changed again to 4.14% or do we read this from somewhere else?

Thanks for pointing this out. You are reading the correct information. It seems to have changed yet again to 4.37%!
There is even a current notam out listing the obstacle free gradient as 4.61%. Time for some tree trimming.

If you receive this type of question in the exam, you would need the current version of the ERSA, and the examiner would need to use the same current information.

Cheers W
