Can someone please help me out with what exactly upper deck air is? I’m reading through about waste gates and turbocharging.. and I’m not getting upper deck air.? Is it just compressed air ?

Just a terminology thing. "Upper deck" refers to the supercharger/turbocharger discharge or output. Hence upper deck pressure is the discharge pressure from the turbocharger as the compressed air exits the compressor section into the intake.

As to where the term originates is anybody's guess ?
