Is radio carriage and are broadcasts mandatory in a CTAF(R)? Can someone please direct me to the proof!!
Cheers,
AM
G'day mate,
CTAF(R) no longer exists. They are called non-towered airports. Carriage of a radio is mandatory around NTAs. To be classified as an NTA the airfield must be either military, certified or registered and "not towered". (Found in ERSA)
This pretty CASA booklet might be worth a look.

It outlines the relevant airlaw references.

Just found it !
It's ENR 1.1 Para 21.1.1.1
If any one is interested....
Thanks, Shiellsy.

The phraseology is flawed, IMHO, however it describes the broadcast area as 5,000' AMSL.
