Hi All,

I'm confused about the answer should be for the following question:

TAF YDUK 242215Z 2400/2506 14020KT 7500 -SHRA SCT025 SCT040
T14 13 12 12 Q1018 1016 1015 1015

METAR/TTF YDUK 0300Z 16015 7500 -SHRA BKN020 12/10 Q1015
RMK RF00.0/000.0 NOSIG

What is the lowest cloud base forecast for an arrival at YDUK at 0700?

My interpretation of the above is as follows:
The TAF is valid for 6 hours from 00 on the 24th until 06 on the 25th. The TTF is valid for 3 hours from 03 on the 25 until 06 on the 25th. Therefore the arrival time falls outside the TAF and the TTF. Should I extrapolate the TAF or am I missing something?

Thanks in advance.

It looks like you have an old book. I don't see that question in the current version of the RPL/PPL Volume 2 (replacing the PPL STUDY GUIDE. The METAR time of issue should include the date. So it should be 240300 for just 0300 in which case, you should revert to the TAF since your arrival is outside the validity period of the TAF.
