Hi. Figure 2.2, page 62, RPL/PPL, Vol 2 says that air temperature in the Stratosphere is the same for about the bottom 20 km.

The answer to Question 6, which is on page 67 says "Temperature in the atmosphere increases as height increases. Rising warm air quickly encounters air that is the same temperature and ceases to rise.

Huh? Does that mean it quickly moves through the bottom 20 km of the stratosphere?

That was a typo in the explained answers. Temperature in the stratosphere no longer decreases with increased height. It has already been changed in the current print of the book.
