Find the trip fuel available for a charter flight if the usable fuel on board at start-up is 140gal.
[a] 104 gal [b] 109 gal
[c] 120 gal [d] 123 gal

( 140gal - 3gal (startup) - 11.5 (30min fixed reserve at 23 gph) ) / 1.1 (variable reserve of 10%) = 104.9

What I don't understand is how the suggested answer used 17.25 gal for the fixed reserve.
Is this due to using 45 minutes fixed reserve ?
Would applying 30 minutes fixed reserves for charter be the correct method now (before the december changes) ?

Current caap 234-1 stipulates 45min fix reserves for vfr charter.

Don't think this is changing on Dec 2nd
