Hi,

Just enquiring about this question:
Find FF available for charter flight if usable fuel on board at SU is 140gal

In working it out
140gal - SU/Taxi - FR

For the calculation of FR your answer calculates FR based on Normal Fuel Flow.
In the supplement it says Fixed Reserve may be calculated at a holding rate or at the normal cruising rate
Which should we use in the exam?

Cheers

When you are flying the Echo, the fixed reserve is at a reduced fuel rate - 15 gallons. If you read the information given on top of this page it says that, for this aircraft, the fixed reserve is to be calculated at cruise rate. Don't expect every question in the exam to be based on an Echo. The examiner reserves the right to ask questions on other aircraft. You can be sure that any question concerning fuel calculations will give clear instructions as to what the policy on reserves will be.

Just read the question carefully and don't assume it is always an Echo.

Bob
