Hello, I just completed my first IREX prep exam and got 32/40. One of the questions I got mark wrong I disagree with your answer. The question is about what a mode C transponder TRANSMITS, I said altitude only, your answer was altitude and position. I believe a mode C transponder transmits altitude and the position comes from the bearing from the antenna and time of pulse from transponder, only ADSB out transponders transmit position.

Hi David,
Valid point. I have tightened up the wording on that question and also the answer provided. I also regraded your exam to give you the mark since you obviously understand the principle of Mode C transponder operation 🙂
Cheers,
