Hi Richard,
re Question 8 on page 3.52 of the July13 version of the IREX STUDY guide. The question asks when you must be established on the departure track of ERC V20 (Cooma to Eildon Weir) on the way to Melbourne.
The answer given is (c) - passing 5nm from Cooma. Can you please explain why this is so?
I answered (d) - before you enter controlled airspace. If Cooma is in Class G then I thought you would not need to establish the route until you got into controlled airspace (page 3.48 and 3.49). What am I missing here?

ENR 1.1 43.2 shows why the requirement to be establishment on the ERC route track within 5nm of Cooma, even in class G.
