Question in Practice exam 4.

You are to depart Perth in VH OZY. Your log book shows that you have done three 2D approaches in the last 90 days. One was with CDI guidance. You have done no other instrument approaches in the last 90 days. The ATIS indicates the wind is 220/20. You plan to return to Perth if you suffer an emergency in IMC after take-off.

The met minima for this departure are a ceiling of.

the answer is given as 507' and a visibility of 2,9km this is correct for the VOR approach.

why can't you use the LOC minima of 507' and 2.0km ?

That's a good point. You could use the LOC landing minima for RWY 21. How ever that was not one of the choices so you could only select and answer from those given. However I will have another look at that questions and make some changes. Thanks for your feed-back.

Bob
