Hello,
With the worked examples on page 194 and 195, the alternate fuel isn’t included in the variable (contingency) reserve. Has this requirement changed? I recall alternate fuel being apart of the flight fuel previously.

Yes the variable reserve is not applied to the alternate fuel. (doesn't make sense but here we are)
