Hi Bob,
Came across this question. Not sure how to answer it.
You are flying an IFR CHTR flight. You arrive over Albany WA at 0311Z with 110min of fuel on board.
Your alternate is 50 min away.
You enter the holding pattern, due fog
The latest divert time is?
Answer is 0318Z.
I'm Not sure how they got this answer.

Hi Hari,
Just did the sums for this one.
Take your 110mins FOB the minus the following
50mins flight time to the alternate + 15% Varible reserve 7.5mins (call it 8 mins) + 45mins Fixed reserve = 103mins fuel required to fly to the alternate.
Leaves 7mins worth of holding.
Arrive at 0311Z. Depart at 0318Z so you will have legal amount of fuel on arrive at the alternate.
