Hi all,
Had a tough day at work and probably not really sharp right now... Can anyone help me out understanding why, since TMG has deviated from FTP to the right, do we need to add the TE to the HDG rather than subtract it? By altering the heading to 155 my impression is that the aircraft would only move further right than it has done before.
Thanks a lot in advance!
Anyone? still struggling with it..
Hi rssluca,
If you have been heading 150[sup]o[/sup] with a constant ADF reading of 350[sup]o[/sup]R, you have been tracking 140[sup]o[/sup] towards the beacon. This is to the right of the FPT of 145[sup]o[/sup]. Therefore you need to turn left to intercept the 145[sup]o[/sup] FPT. The 60[sup]o[/sup] HDG intercept for 145[sup]o[/sup] from the right of track is 085[sup]o[/sup].
See if the picture below makes it any clearer.
Cheers,
Rich
