hello
im sitting for irex this week just to ease out this doubts
your help is appreciated
question as follows
1 FPT--------------------------------------------205M
LSALT for route segment----------------3200ft
FLIGHT CONDUCTED-------------------OCTA

THE LOWEST CRUISING LEVEL THAT AN IFR FLIGHT MAY PLAN OVER THIS ROUTE SEGMENT IS-
a. 3200ft
b. A040
c. A050
d. A060
according to me the answer should be B because you are flying west so consider 2,4,6,8 but also the lowest you can go is lsalt
anyone to clear my doubt please

Operation in the no circling area is not permitted when the conditions are below VMC. That is visibility below 5000m. If VMC do exist (visibility 5000m or better), then there is no reason why you cannot fly in the no circling area. After all, a VFR pilot would not even know the no circling area was there since he/she would not have the approach plate.

an aircraft is cruising at FL150. what level will the aircraft change from 1013.2 to local QNH. when the cruising level are :
1012
990
970
is it when you enter the transition layer or when you leave the transition layer

None of those answer choices is correct. AIP ENR 1.7 tells you all about altimetry, in particular paragraph 2 on altimeter setting rules. On descent from cruising in the flight levels, the altimeter should be changed to the local QNH of the destination prior to entering the transition layer - that is prior to passing through the transition level.
