Hi, is there anyone can help me with the question below. Much appreciated!
An aircraft is situated to the east of an NDB and is required to intercept a track of 030M from that NDB. If the aircraft takes up a HDG of 330M, what is the relative bearing that would indicate the aircraft has intercepted the required track?

Please help. Thank you.

Heading +/-ADF = Track
330______+/-ADF__= 030 From (that takes you through north so call it 390)
333______+ 60 from = 180 + 60 = 240 Relative.

Alternatively you could use Bob HAT trick. Given Heading is 330 and Track is 030 from the NDB

330 +/- A = 210 (QDM: Magnetic track to the station, i.e. reciprocal of 030+180)
A = -120 To (which follows the arc 360 - 120 anti clockwise = 240 degree RB)

or

330 +/- A = 030 (QDR: Magnetic track from the station)
A = -300 From (which follows the arc 180 - anti clockwise 300 = 240 degree RB)

Hope that helps 🙂
