Hey bob, my HuF exam is this monday and i just have a quick question out of the Rob Avery TEM questions.
A “Black hole” visual illusion would be categorised as ?
A. A latent threat.
B. An expected threat.
C. An unexpected threat.
D. An environmental threat.
The answer is D, although i thought A, as latent threats include visual illusions

This rubbish drives me nuts! CASA have made such an unholy mess of these questions on human performance. According to the CAAP, the black hole effect is listed as a latent threat. So you had better give them the answer from the CAAP. It breaks my heart that students have to give answers that are based on what's written in the CAAP rather than applying some sort of logical reasoning to the question.
I don't see why in couldn't be called an 'unexpected latent environmental threat'. After all, all latent threats are unexpected - otherwise they wouldn't be latent!
