Hi Guys,
Wasn't sure of the best place to post this.
One of the model answers in my IREX Exam Prep course review appears to be incorrect. I got the answer wrong and when reviewing my workings figured out where I went wrong. There is nothing wrong with the question and answers, however the correct/model answer in the review has a couple of errata.
The question is:
You are tracking from Grafton to Casino in IMC. The Casino NDB is unserviceable. ADF 1 is tuned to Grafton and ADF 2 is tuned to Lismore. You have maintained the direct track from Grafton to Casino by allowing for 6 degrees of left drift.
The ADF indication which would confirm that you are over Casino is:
In the model answer I noticed two problems.
1) It says: "When you are over Casino, the track from Lismore is 234." As I see it on ERC L3, the track from Lismore is 243. Currently the equation below it doesn't compute. It should read 355 = -112 -243.
2) The picture drawn shows the aircraft over Lismore instead of over Casino.
Cheers.
Thanks for that. I've fixed the question on the server. Must have had too many glasses of red that night!!
Regards
Bob
